MONSTERS
.........or the quest for #1.........
Monster Fish.....................sorry boys, 50" is the minimum here!!
#1
2004 has produced some astounding results for the Musky Marauders! It all started in early June when Jerkbait John and Freespool Frank got into muskies at Lost Loon Lodge. Four fish over 40” in 2 days with one of the fish measuring 46”. Then, Marabou Mike hit a 46 incher a day or two later. But, that’s not the story of #1.
On July 3rd Marabou Mike, while out fishing with Pro Guide Panfish Patrick, hooked a real monster – 52.5” of teeth, fins and fury. Smashing his green florescent bucktail at boat side during the figure 8 and making repeated deep dives, long runs and several trolling motor slice attempts, the fish finally relented. Panfish did an outstanding job netting the ‘lunge and letting dad get all the glory. Lake Independence finally yielded a hawg. This is the #1 musky ever boated by a Musky Marauder. It’ll be a difficult fish to beat. This is a true monster. Congratulations Marabou.
On the opposite side of the coin, Tallywacker Tom (pictured), has been musky fishing for approximately 12 years and is still in search of a legal fish. However, Tallywacker will be back in the Northwoods in August of 2004 and swears this will be his year. Tom, as you can see, is psyched for the event. Wearing the traditional Marauder colors of red and black, Tallywacker has donned the traditional, ancient headgear often worn by Bear’s Belly, guide to Red Jack Ferguson, and swears to not remove the headgear or #1 designation on his chest until such a point as he has boated a legal. Tallywacker is searching for #1 and knows that he is destined to boat a monster – actually, anything over 34” will do! Let’s all pull for Tallywacker in August of 2004
