Marauder Initiation

Musky Marauders continue a long tradition of initiating new members during trips to the Northwoods. All initiations take place in local Northwoods taverns, such as the Burnt Bridge in Conover, or The Black Oak Inn in Land O' Lakes. Initiation may take place on any night during the hunt, and potential members are not true Marauders until they have completed the official ceremony. Musky Marauders are welcome to bring potential initiates on each year's hunt, including friends or relatives.

While members are initiated, patrons of the selected establishment act as part of the ceremony, often cheering the new initiates on to receive the ceremonial tap from of the charter members. Newly initiated members are adorned with a Marauder jacket, hat, and an inauguratory Musky Marauder call name.

The Marauders' most recent initiates include Treble Hook Tom, Jackpot John, Dusty, Rapala Ryan, River Run Rick, Dr. Juice Jeff. The ceremony took place during this year's trip in July at the Black Oak Inn. After successful completion of the night’s revels, the rookie Marauders were adorned in traditional club attire and sent out for their first official hunt.
