2008 HUNT

Spring is in the air…..and the lakes should be open in another month….or two….or three………GEEZ this is a long winter!!

BUT never fear…..the time for the HUNT approaches!!

If you haven’t seen the Web Site, the 2008 hunt schedule is:

Dates – June 16^th – 22^nd

Initiation – 9:00 pm June 19^th at Black Oak

Dinner – 6:00 pm June 19^th at Tek Neek’s (Includes introduction of enhanced UMA)

Cook Out – 4:00 pm June 20^th on Star Lake (rain date June 21^st)

It promises to be an outstanding event full of laughs, good friends and who knows….maybe even a few fish.

The 2008 Musky Marauder Cookout, a cherished annual tradition, will be dedicated to the memory of "Ojibwa Jim Marventano". The cookout is anticipated to take place on Star Lake on Friday, June 20^th. In addition to the normal activities (eating brats, tenderloin and drinking beer, wine and soda) we will unveil the updated "Ultimate Marauder Award" trophy (UMA).

UMA is presently being enlarged to allow for the inclusion of the 2008 and future winners. Additionally, the trophy is being dedicated to the memory of "Ojibwa Jim" and the new expanded base will include an engraved photo of Jim and appropriate wording regarding his sportsmanship, dedication and celebration of his life. Jim, over the years, has demonstrated a true love of the Marauders, UMA and musky fishing – I believe it is absolutely appropriate to dedicate UMA to his memory.
